National School of Physics & Mathematics and the Republican Scientific-Practical Center “Daryn”, supported by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is holding the XIX International Zhautykov Olympiad (IZhO) on Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science which is aimed to develop international relationships, promote the significance of scientific knowledge and improve cooperation and collaboration among specialized schools of physics and mathematics around the world.
The Olympiad will take place in a blended format on 1 – 4th February, 2023 for Kazakhstani attendees and on 1 – 10th February, 2023 for international attendees. Kazakhstani teams participate offline, and international teams attend online format.
The Olympiad involves team competition. Each team should consist of 7 participants: 3 participants in Mathematics, 2 participants in Physics and 2 participants in Computer Science and team leaders (teachers of Math, Physics and Computer Science). A team leader should be able to speak any of the three official languages of the Olympiad: Kazakh, Russian or English. Each contestant is allowed to do the tasks in his/her native language. Teams with less than seven members are permitted to participate. It is allowed to have more than one team from a single country, but the Organizing Committee of the Olympiad reserves the right to limit the number of school teams representing one country or city.
The results of the Olympiad are defined by individual scores in each subject area. The team rating is defined by the sum of individual results of the members. The best schools are awarded diplomas and valuable presents.
Application forms (see the table attached) must be submitted to the Organizing Committee no later than December 30, 2022.
The participation fee for one contestant is USD 50. The participation fee must be paid no later than December 30, 2022.
