Invitation to the XX International Zhautykov Olympiad (IZhO)

Dear friends,

We are delighted to invite you to the XX International Zhautykov Olympiad (IZhO) on Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science. This prestigious event, supported by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, aims to foster international relationships, promote the importance of scientific knowledge, and enhance cooperation among STEM schools worldwide.

Event Details:

Date: 8th to 13th January 2024

Format: Offline team competition

Team Composition: 7 participants, including 3 in Mathematics, 2 in Physics, and 2 in Computer Science, accompanied by 2 team leaders (physicist and mathematician) proficient in Kazakh, Russian, or English.

Eligibility: Teams may consist of fewer than seven members, and multiple teams from a single country or city are allowed (subject to Organizing Committee limitations).
Scoring and Awards: Individual scores determine the results in each subject area. Team rating is the sum of individual results. Outstanding schools will receive diplomas and valuable prizes.

Important Dates:
– Regular Registration Deadline: November 30, 2023
– Regular Registration Fee (until November 30, 2023): USD 100 per contestant and USD 100 per team leader
– Late Registration Fee (after November 30, 2023): USD 130 per contestant
– Incomplete Teams or Individual Registration Fee: USD 200 per contestant

The participation fee covers the transfer around Almaty city, three meals a day and accommodation in a school dormitory. Please note that the number of places in the school dormitory is limited.
